About

First and foremost, I am a husband to my beautiful wife Anna and a father to my four children: Matthew, David, Agniya and Vanya.

Professionally, I'm a Senior Software Engineer. I specialize in Angular development, front-end architecture and performance — the hard problems are the fun ones.

Programming caught me early. I didn't have a computer as a kid, so I asked my mother to buy me books about it and read those instead. It fascinated me before I could even run anything.

Later, at school, I finally got to run my own code — just a simple program that drew a picture out of dots and lines and made it move, written in BASIC. And that was it — I was in love. Soon I was competing in programming contests.

Then came the detour. I studied mechanical engineering at university and kept programming through it, writing small programs for my professors. It only stopped when I graduated and started work on a PhD thesis. I dropped the thesis eventually, but stayed in engineering — fourteen years designing test rigs for hydraulic equipment, before I came back to code for good.

I've been writing Angular since version 4 in 2017. I've lived through its whole evolution, from NgModules and zone.js to standalone components, signals and completely zoneless apps, with all the bugs, inefficiencies, ups and downs along the way. Over the years, it has stayed my favorite technology.

I'm not limited to Angular, though. I enjoy writing code in different languages and frameworks. I've also worked with React, Next.js, Go, Ruby, Node.js and PostgreSQL. I like writing code in pure JavaScript.

API security platform: API audit, conformance scanning and runtime protection. Angular/Nx monorepo of ~400 libraries.

    • Largest individual contributor to the web application and majority author of the production code in 13 of its core libraries.
    • Large reports in the browser: designed and built the client-side engine that makes 150 MB security reports usable in a browser. Before it, they could not be opened at all. Full filtering, sorting and pagination across the whole dataset at interactive speed, and reopening a report is instant.
    • Playbook: built and own the platform's visual scan-configuration builder (settings, authentication, scenarios, environments, pre/post-processing), which replaced hand-edited JSON. Sole author for two and a half years.
    • Framework migration: led a whole-repo migration to Angular 21, NgRx 21, Nx 22 and Jest → Vitest across ~400 libraries, including dependency CVE fixes. Delivered with no feature freeze.
    • Internationalization: chose the i18n framework and designed the per-library lazy translation pattern now used by 78 libraries.
    • Supply-chain security: automated CycloneDX SBOM generation and publishing on every release with GitHub Actions.
    • Also built: Firewall Instances and Transaction Logs (16 libraries from scratch), Git-like versioning for API definitions, Security Quality Gates, and a JSON-Schema → Angular reactive-form generator.
    • Self-directed: I set approach and estimates and work directly with backend, QA and design. When the lead is away I hold his authority, including release, hotfix triage and merge-override rights.
